X and Gamma radioactivity detection portal
The Model 375P-1000 is an outdoor radiation monitoring system, coupled with two shielded plastic scintillator detectors for a cost effective, simple and easy to maintain solution. is an outdoor radiation monitoring system, coupled with two shielded plastic scintillator detectors for a cost effective, simple and easy to maintain solution.
Advantages
- Checks for Surface Contamination Entering/Exiting Facilities
- Affordable digital controller
- Shielded and weather-protected plastic scintillator detectors
- Economical solution offering a simple system that is easy to use and maintain.
The Model 375P-1000 is a state-of-the-art portal radiation detector consisting of two 7866 cm³ (480 in³) shielded plastic scintillation detectors. These detectors are housed in waterproof housings, ideal for outdoor use. The Model 375 controller, although not waterproof, can be installed indoors or in a dedicated environmental enclosure (available separately, see our options). This economical solution offers a high-performance system that is simple and easy to use and maintain.
This system provides continuous monitoring of background noise and alerts you as soon as a contaminated object is detected. Once the object leaves the detection zone, the system returns to normal monitoring of the background noise. Infrared sensors allow the detection of the passage of an object through the gantry and automatically initiate the measurement. This prevents false alarms.
The 375 control box emits local alarms (audible and/or visual). It can also be connected to external alarms or be integrated into an Ethernet network according to your needs. Plus, a 24-hour backup battery keeps the system operational in the event of a power outage.
Medical applications:
This system is ideal for inspecting outgoing waste and/or medical waste for possible low-level radioisotope contamination. Its installation is easily profitable by avoiding a single contaminated shipment. Rules imposed by regulatory agencies can more than justify the cost of installing this monitor in your facility.
Industrial applications:
This system is also very interesting for the industry thanks to its detectors designed for outdoor conditions and a difficult environment.
The 375 controller is very versatile and adapts to all user demands. It is compatible with a wide choice of sizes and dimensions of plastic detectors.
Inspection of surface contamination:
Inspecting items using handheld instruments can be time consuming in many cases. The 375P-1000 facilitates faster, more consistent inspection by placing two large scintillation detectors near incoming or outgoing items to be inspected. These detectors are constantly monitored by the digital controller, so as to immediately trigger an alarm in the event of a suspicious presence. Alarm conditions can be configured to automatically shut down production conveyors, alert the central office, or even alert key personnel for immediate response.
Automatic triggering:
This system includes vehicle presence sensors, preventing the unit from issuing an alarm unless a vehicle is being monitored and the alarm threshold is exceeded.
Wide choice of variants available
The system is available with a single detector. Also, our supplier allows us to offer a very wide choice of detector size, number or configuration.
Volumes available: 2.7L, 9.8L, 41L or 57L. Possible configuration from 1 to 6 detectors (see 4525-Series documentation).
These possibilities allow the control of larger volume such as car, truck, semi-trailer, container or train…
Available options: audio/visual alarms, alarm report, camera, software.
